YEOW ARCHI-PORTFOLIO
Project 1 : ANALYSING PASSIVE DESIGN STRATEGIES

The building we chose for this project was Menara PJH (a gold award GBI rating building) located in Lot 2c2 , Putrajaya. For this project, we are required to study the passive designs of the architects in charged of this building and how do these designs actually help in saving energy/to be more environmental friendly. Throughout the project, we studied the orientation of building, the materials choice, the shading devices to understand how does all these designs work in keeping the internal temperature of the building in comfort zone. We were able to get to understanding the passive cooling strategies with the aid of all the softwares like ecotect, vasari, etc. We got the sun path diagram, wind rose diagram and thermal datas and finally make a conclusion to justify whether these passive cooling strategies working fine.
